This course builds on the basic skills and techniques covered in our Activating the Heart of Resilience course. If you have not taken that course, that’s OK! We do a tune-up on the basic skills during the first week. Every class will be presented via live video conference and available for replay. In this course, you’ll learn HeartMath’s science-based tools and strategies for taking control of your mental and emotional well-being—transforming emotional memories and mindsets, creating new baseline attitudes and behaviors that serve you better, and learning to be more aware and in charge of your emotional states. Based on over 30 years of research, and supported by more than 300 independent peer-reviewed studies, these techniques will help you take charge of how you feel, free up energy, time and creativity, and upgrade the way you operate in daily life.

You’ll learn tools proven to cut through emotional patterns and habitual reactions that are sapping your vitality and help you create physiological changes that reinforce happier, healthier patterns that give you energy, enthusiasm and confidence. And you’ll learn why they work, and how tapping the power of your physical heart can accelerate your way out of the same old cycles and into a renewed experience of living.

This a comfortable class that combines presentation, practice and discussion. Wear whatever you’re wearing, feel however you’re feeling—just make the commitment to yourself and show up, even if that means catching the replay. This stuff works!

In this course, you will:

  • Learn and practice scientifically proven techniques for reducing stress and boosting your resilience.

  • Learn some basic physiology to help you understand how the heart, brain and nervous system affect how you feel and react, your energy levels and outlook, and the emotional memories and mindsets that color our perceptions and reactions.

  • Learn how to interrupt emotional responses that don’t serve you and to rewire your brain and nervous system to clear the path for better choices.

  • Understand how to create a state of “operational coherence” so you can bring the best of yourself to your family, your passions and your work.

  • Learn and practice tools to boost your awareness of your emotional and physiological states and to shift these in the moment.

  • Learn how to tap the power of emotions like appreciation.

  • Create a plan for creating a new baseline of coherence, resilience and ease.

Course Instructor

Michele Archie, principal of The Harbinger Consultancy. Michele was first certified as a HeartMath trainer 20 years ago, and has relied on these techniques ever since in her life and work with organizations. In developing this course, Michele drew on HeartMath’s new Activating the Heart of Teams™ program, which focuses on boosting personal resilience and coherence, and translating that into easier, more efficient, effective, satisfying and fun relationships in groups of all kinds.

  • Recognizing new baselines

  • Vibrational awareness and synchronizing the heart and brain

  • Tools for shifting from depleting emotional responses to renewing states

 

Session 4: Changing Attitudes

  • How attitudes affect energy

  • Emotional undercurrents

  • Tools for replacing attitudes

Session 5: Operational Coherence

  • Creating “flow” in “non-flow” situations

  • Tools for regulating emotions, attitudes and behaviors in the moment

 

Session 6: Creating Your Future

  • The power of appreciation

Optional Inner Balance™ Trainer

Not required for this course. Save at least $25 on HeartMath’s Inner Balance trainer when you purchase it through us. Normally $199 + tax and shipping, you can purchase from us at your leisure before, during or after the course for $169 with taxes and shipping included.

The Inner Balance includes a Bluetooth or ear sensor that connects to an app on your phone or tablet (iOS or Android) to monitor your heart rhythm. The Inner Balance provides real-time feedback that helps you use the HeartMath techniques to shift from stress and frustration to balance and resilience.
